Geneva, tourist information

Switzerland

Geneva, the second most populous Swiss city after Zürich, rises where Lake Geneva (Lac Léman in French) flows into the Rhône River, is a truly international city. Beautiful sights are the Reformation Wall, the Flower Clock, the Jet d'Eau (a 140-metre-high water-column on the Lake which can be seen from afar) and the Palais des Nations, the European headquarters of the United Nations. Not to miss is the Saint-Pierre Cathedral, on the site of an early Christian temple, and the "Vielle ville", where the atmosphere of a typical European 18th-century is preserved.
